Webinar: Can bees bring peace for elephants and farmers?

You are invited to join a webinar on the 18th of September, hosted by the Future of Nature Academy and Miami University’s Project Dragonfly, during which a collective of international elephant researchers will present the new publication “Beehive fences as a sustainable local solution for human-elephant conflicts in Thailand” and other innovative elephant conservation projects. With presenters from Bring the Elephant Home (Antoinette van de Water from South Africa and David Owen from Thailand), Dr. Lucy King (Save the Elephants, Kenya), Rachaya Arkajak (Phuluang Wildlife Research Station, Thailand), Kylie Butler (beehive fence study in Sri Lanka), Dr. Prachi Mehta (Wildlife Research and Conservation Society, India), Dr. Michelle Henley and Robin Cook (Elephants Alive, South Africa), and Dr. Kevin C Matteson (Project Dragonfly, Miami University). The presenters will share their newest insights on how bees can help elephants to peacefully coexist with farmers. We will broadcast some inspiring stories and videos and there will be a panel discussion with scientists working with elephants and bees in Asia and Africa.
