Living in the Sloth bear Landscape- An information booklet for locals

BACKGROUND

Living in the Sloth bear Landscape booklet is prepared to provide correct information about the species to the locals.
This initiative is offered in areas of sloth bear-human conflicts and aims at educating local residents about the species ecology so to avoid bear attacks and other types of conflicts.
Booklet is also distributed to the tourist visiting sanctuary. For them this booklet is useful by providing basic ecology of the sloth bear.

DESCRIPTION

The booklet consist of 22 pages and provides information on diet, breeding and habits of the bears along with do's and don'ts also signs of sloth bear presence. This will help replace myths from the facts about the bears and make them tolerant with the sloth bear presence.

PRINCIPLE

The booklet is provided in language, English and Gujarati. To enhance the clarity, team has added pictures along with the facts provided in the booklet. This will help us to reach more locals without explaining much and spreading and distributing our knowledge. The principle here is to reach out to more people residing the sloth bear habitat.

CONDITIONS OF SUCCESS

More than 1000 booklets distributed and we have received good feedback demanding the production of more resources like this. This success motivates us to print and develop such education material.
